Faith UMC

We used Bose Modeler software to design the sound system and to analyze the performance of the system before the room was built. This advantage gives us insight into how the acoustics of the room will interact with the sound system and what the actual intelligibility will be.

For this full range system Two Bose Panaray 502A speakers and a single MB4 sub woofer were chosen and placed for best sound coverage and intelligibility.

The small size of the Panaray 502A speakers (shown to the right) is a big plus in preserving the smooth sight lines of this church.
The Panarays are barely visible in the picture above. The relatively small size allows us to place the speaker where it will perform the best.

Faith UMC wanted a video system but they were concerned about the visual impact a large screen can have on the aesthetics of a church. To solve that problem the video screen was made to be part of the design of the room. This custom Video screen needed to have a custom frame. The installation was difficult but the finished product looks well integrated and functional.

The screen we used was a special perforated screen material. Many of the organ pipes were actually located behind the screen. The screen manufacturer was able to supply an attenuation chart for the screen material. The company that installed the organ then was able to voice those pipes to compensate for any high frequency loss.

The projector was mounted above a cluster of lights. The end result is a video system that is integrated into the room without any of the industrial look that often plagues video installations.

Shure wireless and wired mics were used. A Countryman Earset mic and a Listen hearing assistance system were also part of this system.

A 24 channel Sanctuary series mixer was mounted in a locking wood roll top console. This mixer allows 4 channels of auto-mixing to allow services and choir practices, most weddings-etc. to take place without a sound system operator. The full 24 channel capability is available whenever it is needed.
